1. Happiness

I have found that happiness is generally what, in one way or another, people are seeking. The problem is that happiness only works as a fleeting sentiment - it only exists as a vaunted thing if we’re walking the precipice of it no longer being around.

And that’s the problem - we seek to lock down that which, were it to be locked down, would not be desirable in the slightest.

Our happy moments are about as poignant as our profoundly unhappy ones.. Losing spurs me on to the thought of winning, and that motivates - but what does the ACT of winning do? Not the idea of it - the actuality of conquering… That leaves us bereft of purpose, at least for a moment.

And so, in considering that no happiness will ever truly be everlasting if it’s worth a damn, one should, shit.. I should, take solace — right?

How come I don’t feel any better?

An uncertain impasse... no that would be a decided passe, so to speak, clearly not the case. A certain impasse then. A storm bereft of rain, a father sans child, a warrior with nary a cause to fight for. Be yourself, that's society's mantra, but when you don't like who you are.. well, then what?
